De ontwikkeling van jong talent
Met meer dan 25 jaar ervaring als pedagoog, is Fernando Riscado Cordas gespecialiseerd in het scouten en coachen van jong talent. In deze rol is Cordas als hoofdvak gitaardocent verbonden aan De School Voor Jong Talent (svjt) van het Koninklijk Conservatorium te Den Haag.
Om veelbelovende jonge gitaristen voor te bereiden op een carrière in muziek biedt Cordas lestrajecten op maat aan. Elke leerling wordt begeleidt bij de studie van het juiste repertoire en de ontwikkeling van de instrumentale techniek zodat uiteindelijk aan de hoge eisen van het toelatingsexamen van de Bachelor opleiding kan worden voldaan.
Gedurende dit traject zijn er binnen het KC twee (leeftijds-)categorieën:
1-Basisschool, groepen 7 & 8
2-Middelbare school, alle klassen (Havo & Vwo)
Om in een van deze categorieën te worden toegelaten zal een toelatingsexamen worden afgenomen (meestal voorafgegaan door een informeel voorspel).
Na een positief beoordeelde toelating is het in beide categorieën mogelijk om als interne of externe leerlingen te worden ingeschreven. Interne leerlingen genieten de complete JongKC-ervaring en daarbij het gemak dat hun schoolvakken en muziek-gerelateerde vakken perfect op elkaar afgestemd zijn. Externe leerlingen volgen hun reguliere onderwijs buiten het Conservatorium, zijn minder in het gebouw aanwezig en dienen hun vakken en bezigheden zo af te stemmen dat alles op elkaar afgestemd is.

Developing young talent
As a pedagogue with over 25 years of experience, Fernando Riscado Cordas is specialised in guiding and developing young talent. In this role Fernando Riscado Cordas is professor of classical guitar at the School for Young Talent (svjt) of the Royal Conservatoire, The Hague.
In order to prepare promising young guitar players for a career in music, Fernando offers tailor made trajectories for each individual pupil and guides each student through the required repertoire and instrumental-technique material, which needs to be digested in order to acquire the high entrance exam-level of the Bachelor studies at the Royal Conservatoire.
Following are the two possible (age-)categories at the KC, during this trajectory:
1-Primary school group 7 & 8
2-Secondary school all years (Havo & Vwo)
To enter one of these categories, the candidates level will be tested by means of an entrance exam (usually preceded by a preliminary informal exam). The candidates need to be able to speak Dutch.
After a successful pass of the entrance exam there is the option to enrol as an internal or an external student. Internal students follow both their regular education and music related classes inside the Royal Conservatoire and in this way enjoy the full KC experience. The strain of their busy schedule is greatly eased because they follow a tailor made package which contains all their school subjects and music-related classes. External students follow their regular education outside the Royal Conservatoire and need to arrange school and KC schedules themselves in order to make everything fit.
